The halls of Chene Bleu High School, Pincourt, were bouncing to the beat of the music, as 23 participants joined in a 24 hour, High Intensity Interval Training workout, (HIIT) coordinated by Herbalife, a global nutrition company, in Los Angeles, California.

The workout began at 9am, in Auckland, New Zealand, and throughout the next 24 hours, events began in all corners of the globe, in a quest to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for having the most participants in an HIIT event.

Pincourt residents Paul Martineau, and Brett Taylor coach weekly fit camps in Terrasse-Vaudreuil, and believed their taking part in this experience was a good way in bringing awareness to health and fitness to their community.

“It was a great way to bring cognizance to the Herbalife Foundation. For years, my diet consisted of coffee, and cigarettes. It was time to change my ways because of my wife and kids. I have lost 26 pounds since starting Herbalife diet,” Taylor told The Suburban.

“We were very happy to have 23 official participants for the world record workout, but had over 30 participants including the children that worked out with us, teaching them the importance of staying active. We were pretty excited about it. I am proud to have been part of it also! It was a lot of preparation, making sure all the official paperwork was properly done,” said organiser, and personal wellness coach, Paul Martineau

The Guinness Book of World Records officially confirmed that Herbalife successfully created a new world record with over 4,000 people taking part at Nokia plaza, Los Angeles.

“This event was very well organized. My sons and I had a lot of fun participating in an event that was connected to 90 countries. The exercise was very intense and we can't wait for the next one,” said Dollard-Des-Ormeaux resident, and participant, Elisa Edery.

“The turnout of positive people, young and old, wanting to make a difference in their lives by exercising was fantastic! What an amazing experience, and am so proud of everyone who was there and for smashing a Guinness World Record for the most participation around the globe,” said Senneville resident, Darlene Williamson

Herbalife addresses global obesity, bringing good nutrition, weight management, energy, and fitness, to show the world the importance of exercise. Further information on Herbalife Canada can be viewed at the following link: https://www.goherbalife.com/cmasante/fr-CA
